It's been a very productive month of April for me. I got a lot of work done across a variety of projects. Unfortunately not all of them were hulls for #armourinapril.<br />
<br />
The two Leman Russ tanks are ready for the final detailing pass. The Salamander Scout is waiting on the crew to be finished, and the Thunderer is waiting for me to finish the dozer blade as well as a few other details.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In other Armour in April news, I managed to secure seven more hulls in trade right at the end of the month, along with quite a few extra heavy weapons. Five Chimeras, a Wyvern, and a Hellhound will add a little something something to my expanding motor pool.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://storage04.dropshots.com/photos7000/photos/1402846/20180429/b_135149.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="350" data-original-width="650" height="172" src="https://storage04.dropshots.com/photos7000/photos/1402846/20180429/b_135149.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, Cylde Ar of <a href="http://mastodontica.blogspot.com.es/2018/05/armour-in-april.html" target="_blank">Mastodóntica</a> got in touch to share his absolutely beautiful Wave Serpents he knocked out during the month. Google probably butchered the translation when I went to check it out but it seems like he also got a Fire Prism and some Shining Spears done. Great work!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks to everyone who joined in to get some armour done this month!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cheers,</div>

It's been a busy week! I got The Guilder painted and started in on his bodyguard.<br />

I also got a squad of <a href="https://madrobotminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_19&products_id=329" target="_blank">Mad Robot Miniatures Space Police</a> assembled.<br />
<br />

And of course plenty of work on my tanks for #ArmourinApril. I'm getting the four hulls I've been concentrating on closer and closer to finished! The final update will be soon.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

When he arrived I decided to get him cleaned up and painted straight away. After a bath in warm soapy water to remove any mould release agent I basecoated the miniature with Rustoleum grey primer. Once that set I gave him an overbrush of Ceramite White, and from there I had at him with washes and glazes. The finish on the fabric is exactly what I wanted. I used Testors Model Master Turn Signal Amber quite a bit, in all the yellow and gold in fact. It has proven to be a versatile paint. To think I bought it by mistake.<br />

Getting The Guilder knocked out is great on two fronts: firstly it gets me my 'Buy a model and paint it within 48 hours' stamp. Secondly I plan to get great mileage outta him as either a dubious or outright villainous NPC for some Inq28 games.<br />
<br />
Ten stamps not including the freebie box! Stay tuned as I try and fill the card.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

The third week of #ArmourinApril is over. Not too much painting got done this week, but I did bring the Thunderer to life so I feel like it's a fair trade. I did get it and the second of my eBay rescue Leman Russ hulls painted up to the same point as the tanks last week.<br />

So all four tanks are now ready for detail. That ought to occupy the rest of the month nicely.<br />

The crew of the Salamander is also ready to be painted up. I also have been thinking about adding more stowage to the scout tank...<br />
<br />
Nearly there!<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

Working on lots of tanks this week as #ArmourinApril continues. And I managed to complete a character for Inquisitor Draco's retinue, so that's one down and three to go.<br />

So far my collection consists of the models from Dark Imperium and The Plague Bretheren. I really like those three models and made sure to snag em since it was rumored they were a limited release. An added bonus for me is the great art cards that come with the box.<br />
<br />

As far as painting and the hobby these models are important to me since they were the models that made me dig into my Dark Imperium box and get back into it. I've been on a tear ever since through Squaduary, Monster March, and now my own #ArmourinApril.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

One of my favorite thing to do is convert models. If you've been following my blog for any length of time I think this is pretty clear. For #armourinapril I decided I wanted to add another hull to my collection so I turned to the Pile of Grey Shame to see about parts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

What a shock I found everything I need... As you can see I already made some cuts to the main hull pieces of the Leman Russ and the Chimera.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And after a few hours of work and the addition of some greebles I have a very serviceable Thunderer Siege Tank. There is still a bit of work to do (like adding rivets) before I set to with the greenstuff to finish the build portion of the project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmOGZC9m5AV0X8kTw265hCPHVk2xPSl1D44ga8OaG_RfHFH9p6RKxrbL-v9AVqyIcQSPqJ0_g7ragEOonATsLZHY0_Zrt1mG-qFOEmQvJC77OVN4ebQUk2idgTgA8n5vW7-nkz_fiqYA/s1600/2018hobbybingo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1382" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmOGZC9m5AV0X8kTw265hCPHVk2xPSl1D44ga8OaG_RfHFH9p6RKxrbL-v9AVqyIcQSPqJ0_g7ragEOonATsLZHY0_Zrt1mG-qFOEmQvJC77OVN4ebQUk2idgTgA8n5vW7-nkz_fiqYA/s320/2018hobbybingo.jpg" width="276" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now at first I was worried about getting the 'Convert a model into a totally different unit or character. Make sure it accurately represents what it's supposed to be' stamp. I was thinking characters and models on foot and really I'm pretty well set for characters. No, that's a lie... I've got more characters than I need. But then I dug into this project and realized it was perfect to tick it off for my ninth stamp. Still no bingo!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I guess I need to keep plugging away at the pile.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cheers!</div>

This week saw me get some rare morning painting done before work. I'm usually up quite a bit before I need to leave the house anyways so I may try and capitalize on this previously unrealized hobby time. The Salamander Scout got it's basecoat finished up and both tanks got a black wash so they'd be ready for drybrushing when I got back to my desk again.<br />
<br />
Update: I got some progress photos from <a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/108751490329780782681" target="_blank">Pablo Daniele Mura</a>, he is working on a trio of Leman Russ tanks.<br />

In related projects I assembled some parts and set out on a conversion marathon... Stay tuned for more news there.<br />

In only slightly related news Dave Taylor's Kickstarter has successfully funded all the stretch goals. I look forward to getting my book.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
It's been a really productive year and I've managed to fill out quite a few stamps for the card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGBDNxsDTWl9YkkvA8NhWrjNWjfa-CpkhkFELkBQH17_uJ2Hup8l8YQfU3RHlY8Z430az3hMSDm3ZptU4i4fjt7X3ZWOEP66PRIN_WNQXiVTcMHx_83SwhMnftKsKXnxsliC062wPMvQ/s1600/20180329_174814.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGBDNxsDTWl9YkkvA8NhWrjNWjfa-CpkhkFELkBQH17_uJ2Hup8l8YQfU3RHlY8Z430az3hMSDm3ZptU4i4fjt7X3ZWOEP66PRIN_WNQXiVTcMHx_83SwhMnftKsKXnxsliC062wPMvQ/s320/20180329_174814.png" width="320" /></a></div>
Painting the Knight for Monster March allowed me to stamp the 'Finish painting a model that's been in your to do pile or that's remained unfinished for more than a year.' I started assembling that one back in 2015.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoZ3FiN_RCvdeNxnGt_VWDOIQniLwB_AugNZmmtCfqDDWEZekKm9_PL91yw-Wy4f4CGCKQsmjgsdPIZ785BGxrDzoqilHHCiXfo0vleyIdzz9Oxy1aHQfAys_TUT2PedwfxckShb25yA/s1600/20180407_202648.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoZ3FiN_RCvdeNxnGt_VWDOIQniLwB_AugNZmmtCfqDDWEZekKm9_PL91yw-Wy4f4CGCKQsmjgsdPIZ785BGxrDzoqilHHCiXfo0vleyIdzz9Oxy1aHQfAys_TUT2PedwfxckShb25yA/s320/20180407_202648.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Finishing up my Vanquisher for #armourinapril lets me stamp 'Paint a vehicle.'<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuIUJDJa7qfMHK-MPJ6lD6EeSgb9NEDtnpGchKnEaN2a9r-z-L_29XY2xamhZDHd99cEtyC-SDx5n1n8R6A5tpDjOo0f7JQKBWLb3u2EDPRhZAklPmhDhUVXtoCvZtIn7qP_d8276vkg/s1600/20180318_142714.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuIUJDJa7qfMHK-MPJ6lD6EeSgb9NEDtnpGchKnEaN2a9r-z-L_29XY2xamhZDHd99cEtyC-SDx5n1n8R6A5tpDjOo0f7JQKBWLb3u2EDPRhZAklPmhDhUVXtoCvZtIn7qP_d8276vkg/s320/20180318_142714.png" width="320" /></a></div>
A little sculpting and a weapon swap made for an efficient One-Eye Jack stand in and got me the stamp for 'Convert a model.'<br />
<br />
I don't have a completed photo for 'Build and paint a scenery kit' or 'Sculpt something on a model' but the projects in question are my Garden of Morr and The Witchhunter's warband that I've added some purity seals to.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVyAbMDScqNnj0VBRXCVa7oyqFHcivnhNMnpZCsqTogObqQrTk1VGRiZYe0voTwUY-Xk1TC1IhD1eGulKDPhKaWOcTwyQs2R1AyyInzriuRDl9O0H0Ds2ck6fnknWpPujSwM39xQI2dg/s1600/20180219_133812.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVyAbMDScqNnj0VBRXCVa7oyqFHcivnhNMnpZCsqTogObqQrTk1VGRiZYe0voTwUY-Xk1TC1IhD1eGulKDPhKaWOcTwyQs2R1AyyInzriuRDl9O0H0Ds2ck6fnknWpPujSwM39xQI2dg/s320/20180219_133812.png" width="320" /></a></div>
Finally a preview of the project in process (it's done now) of my Death Guard from the Dark Imperium box and The Plague Brethren. These projects count toward my 'Paint a model for an army you don't already collect and play' and 'Add a new unit to your army and completely paint it before using it on the battlefield' stamps.<br />
<br />
So that's eight stamps so far for me. I've got a project for stamp number nine cooking as I type this up. #armourinapril is in full swing still. My only hope is that I can maintain this level of productivity in the months to come (and hopefully that's not a curse I've just laid...). There is plenty of plastic on my desk, and I'm really excited for the new Knight Codex.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://robhawkinshobby.blogspot.com/2017/12/wargame-hobby-bingo-2018.html" target="_blank">Thanks again to Rob Hawkins for coming up with the bingo card.</a><br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">This edition of Throwback Thursday is brought to you by the old GW black boxes! These were sent out with the hottest new items for a codex release back when those happened very sparingly.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">In 2009 I was lucky enough to get to paint up the 5th edition IG black box. The new Cadian command squad and Valkyrie were the contents. It was a trick to assesmble the Valkyrie since there were no instructions with the box... total bummer, there was no flying stand either.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">This was one of the most complex models GW had released at this point, and a lot of fun to build and paint. The interior and cockpit are really well detailed, even though I opted to leave out the door gunners.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The plastic Valkyrie was one of the most anticipated kits ever after the plastic droppod when it was released. I really had to work to get my paint job to pop on this one since the model would be on display. I used the following recipe:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #f3f3f3; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="color: #263238;">Prime with Armoury Black Primer</span><span style="color: #263238;">Shadow Grey</span><span style="color: #263238;">Codex Grey drybrush</span><span style="color: #263238;">Badab Black wash</span><span style="color: #263238;">Space Wolves Grey drybrush</span><br /><span style="color: #263238;">The metallics are as follows:</span><br /><span style="color: #263238;">Prime with Armoury Black Primer</span><span style="color: #263238;">Boltgun Metal</span><span style="color: #263238;">custom mixed black ink wash</span><span style="color: #263238;">Boltgun Metal drybrush</span><span style="color: #263238;">Chainmail drybrush (very light)</span></span></blockquote>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: white;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: white;">This is the same recipe I use to this day, just with the current versions of the GW paint. I also tend to use Rustoleum spray cans to prime everything.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: white;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="color: white;">Cheers!</span></span></div>

Rob Hawkins, Paul Sawyer, Chad Meirzwa... Dave Taylor. A lot of these guys got on to blogging their projects to share em with the world, which inspired me to start my blog.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Dave Taylor has inspired me to try more and do better in my hobby endeavors than any other hobbyist. With that in mind I was happy as a pig in shit to back his <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1560579763/armies-and-legions-and-hordes" target="_blank">Kickstarter for Armies, Legions & Hordes</a>. I'd try and sell you on it but The Terrain Tutor (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx_aro8CTHw7ZD5H661hC6Q" target="_blank">Mel is bloody amazing go watch his videos</a>) does it much better. I will say that when my copy of Armies, Legions & Hordes does arrive I'll display it along with my Imperial Armour Masterclass books.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/wy1mDXFjXsw/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wy1mDXFjXsw?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<div>
The KS is almost unlocked all of the pledge levels. Even better there's a pledge level that gets you some facetime with Dave via Skype. Now I can't afford that one but I sure wish I could. Oh well I guess I'll just have to try and meet him at a game con someday.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In other news I'm plugging along with my tanks for #armourinapril. Stay tuned for more updates!</div>
<div>

Cheers,</div>

I started with two tanks nearly complete so I have been focused on getting them done first. The LR Vanquisher is nearly done at this point. The Gideon pattern MBT I had painted half of the metallics and then stopped. I got the rest done and now they are both ready for some washes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDfKQEJTwY5opsozP6S9ViGqwJfXm1g6m_qa4F4P_R9sVXJvApp8rfo89fo2ubnzl8Lh8nODDphiiHziehx_1omlOZrVCPz06Bu-Swm0K8t4bLxolO7vITIu0-cyn_885DabD1v4xNeA/s1600/20180407_202648.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDfKQEJTwY5opsozP6S9ViGqwJfXm1g6m_qa4F4P_R9sVXJvApp8rfo89fo2ubnzl8Lh8nODDphiiHziehx_1omlOZrVCPz06Bu-Swm0K8t4bLxolO7vITIu0-cyn_885DabD1v4xNeA/s320/20180407_202648.png" width="320" /></a></div>
I got all the Shadow Grey basecoat applied to one of my basic LR hulls as well. While I was working on the metallics for the Gideon I painted the tracks and grab handles on the armour skirt for this comparison picture. When I first started with my Imperial Guard, the tank on the left would have been fielded as is and considered done. I was completely chuffed with my paint job, too, since it was smooth, no brush strokes. That was about... oh iunno Eye of Terror? So In the interval I've made some progress.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGCsnzo5qO3LtQecwFA2cXX_hPL4PBTvuOpbh7vVGUXJApB19DblUxhKViqmwuWTwHDToUhC4aC-JrIoHAtMBiWzcTEXN7lfQGmgUUj9j0zU_WtRG_qHfmZuE2QFolOvOnOjFT9MynhQ/s1600/20180407_202746.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGCsnzo5qO3LtQecwFA2cXX_hPL4PBTvuOpbh7vVGUXJApB19DblUxhKViqmwuWTwHDToUhC4aC-JrIoHAtMBiWzcTEXN7lfQGmgUUj9j0zU_WtRG_qHfmZuE2QFolOvOnOjFT9MynhQ/s320/20180407_202746.png" width="320" /></a></div>
In the modeling side of things I made some changes to the Salamander. I've added a few extra track links and an old lasgun rack. I may add some more stowage to the vehicle at a later date.<br />
<br />
I haven't gotten any progress updates from anyone else participating yet, but when I do I'll make sure to share them.<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

We've had a theme to help drive hobby productivity for the past couple months. I decided that I'd start #armourinapril and get some tanks of my beloved Guard painted.<br />
<br />
I invite everyone to participate. Leave a comment that let's me know you're in and lag posts with the #armourinapril label so others can find em easy. Fantasy warmachines and tanky creatures definitely count!<br />
<br />
One of the first tasks is to get the above dozerblade stripped and repainted.<br />
<br />
After I finished my Imperial Knight I decided that I wanted to keep going with large models for a while, and since the end of the month was so nice I got some priming done.<br />
<br />

These are all eBay rescues except for the Salamander. The Chimera in the lower right looked like it had been dipped in superglue or something...<br />

This is one of the few Gideon pattern MBTs that exist in the wild, along with a command tank I started in 2016 I think. As you can see the dozerblade is out of the brake fluid bath and parts of an old Hellhound are in there now.<br />
<br />
Happy Easter!<br />

My Knight Crusader is also my Kingsward. I've got a bit of fluff fleshed out from my initial go at it which I will present at a later date. The heraldry on the shield is incomplete, as well as there being no waterslides on the model yet. I'm waiting on some Microset and Microsol to arrive before I run at decals again.<br />
<br />
I'm really pleased with the way everything turned out on my first Knight. I need to pick up Forgebane for the Armagers and Skitarii. I'm very excited about the new Codex and models!<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

So I have heard good things about this game around the internet. I'd like to get my hands on a set of rules and maybe even find some opponents... but before all that I decided to convert myself up a car.<br />
<br />

This is a little Radio Shack remote control car that was floating around the house. The charger and controller are long gone so I gutted it and set to work with some of the styrene stock I had.<br />

And a couple hours later this is what I ended up with. The tanks in the back are from the Chemical Plant sprue, as is the silver scoop on the hood. I'm very pleased with my first go at this stuff. I want to find some more cars and see about just making some fun Mad Max style vehicles, maybe a whole fleet.<br />
<br />
Cheers!<br />

Just a brief update this week, folks. I've been mostly working on my Knight for Monster March.<br />

I also started getting some paint down on Grimm, follower of Inquisitor Draco.<br />

I have been cracking right along though. I've got the legs done to the point I can mount them to the base, since that's done too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV0jq6tRJR1bkqhKUDDTZiA2b-KsiY06xnhBrMJkg2-K6QUUOP83wKLq49w1MLvffbhLZj5KQcDkhxpsdl0RIM_2Yr0iHDkLUPTVXOpyLTUG9o81_TTsro3NeZ0lFRm7t2iPVxrtg_7g/s1600/20180319_174823.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV0jq6tRJR1bkqhKUDDTZiA2b-KsiY06xnhBrMJkg2-K6QUUOP83wKLq49w1MLvffbhLZj5KQcDkhxpsdl0RIM_2Yr0iHDkLUPTVXOpyLTUG9o81_TTsro3NeZ0lFRm7t2iPVxrtg_7g/s320/20180319_174823.png" width="320" /></a></div>
My first idea was to treat it like a normal infantry model and drive the pins through the base.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9yPhc_6XleR82IalFsgswjs8G9lof9sKBgBUiJaRDSFA31O2NOPT7_gcogJ-3PjJWj1W_i1OC2O7LEqB71LHZfYZ-JYM28YN_rgUCF1XRovtFBxE1hDJwP4qeTMT4Am0xbTvd9rUZNw/s1600/4058837641896777106.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="576" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9yPhc_6XleR82IalFsgswjs8G9lof9sKBgBUiJaRDSFA31O2NOPT7_gcogJ-3PjJWj1W_i1OC2O7LEqB71LHZfYZ-JYM28YN_rgUCF1XRovtFBxE1hDJwP4qeTMT4Am0xbTvd9rUZNw/s320/4058837641896777106.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That shit didn't work. The idea just doesn't scale properly. Luckily for me the JB Weld hadn't completely set and I was able to peel the pins off and try again. I put the pins in the legs of my Knight and that worked out a lot better. <a href="https://www.jbweld.com/products/kwikweld-twin-tube" target="_blank">JB Weld is pretty handy stuff.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As of this evening this is where progress currently sits. The carapace is more or less done. I've glued the chest, face, and the plate above the head on. The battle cannon is ready for highlights and touch up, and the gatling cannon is ready for it's all over black wash. As long as nothing crazy happens in the next ten days I should have no problem getting this guy done.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Next update will be the completed Knight!</div>

With the new Van Saars being teased last week I decided to get all my gangers together for a photo session.<br />

The new box set got me set up with both Eschers and Goliaths, both gangs that appealed to me the least in the last couple iterations of the game.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTAJiyiyrV5n5Na6bFyvELuf8lf34Ji_raW-ZXMDACLJItg-gmAsiFfjrldfqcZuBnKwv73c89ESobBmjqunmFWuX0gdqfCkbj7UZlJA6w_VNxbmuynQ7u9OAVPhclpusRoHsbmH5U8g/s1600/20180318_142714.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTAJiyiyrV5n5Na6bFyvELuf8lf34Ji_raW-ZXMDACLJItg-gmAsiFfjrldfqcZuBnKwv73c89ESobBmjqunmFWuX0gdqfCkbj7UZlJA6w_VNxbmuynQ7u9OAVPhclpusRoHsbmH5U8g/s320/20180318_142714.png" width="320" /></a></div>
The new Orlock plastics are definitely a step up from the originals.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My favorite gang has always been Van Saar. These are <a href="https://madrobotminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_19&products_id=213" target="_blank">Mad Robot Miniatures Vanderbilt Fighters.</a> Thanks to the work of Mad Robot Steve I have some juves for this gang. I plan to hunt some down for all my other gangs as well but I expect it will be slow going.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmCir_caw0Gyy_gXkjktAL9akleUWHk_CUv4oK-2DdnKbDvhsKHU038ULR8KYNS2z-WWfBn91pl60ACutlRcTEQgYNEF2tZVPe-JkkNdZYNjP13g_xhaUQhwKDHlyMNdQpIbwOt1M08w/s1600/20180318_144657.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="1024" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmCir_caw0Gyy_gXkjktAL9akleUWHk_CUv4oK-2DdnKbDvhsKHU038ULR8KYNS2z-WWfBn91pl60ACutlRcTEQgYNEF2tZVPe-JkkNdZYNjP13g_xhaUQhwKDHlyMNdQpIbwOt1M08w/s320/20180318_144657.png" width="320" /></a></div>
Finally my Scum! He's lonely for now but with all these new bounty hunters and hangers-on that are listed in Gang War II and been announced will see some more like minded underhivers joining the pool.<br />
<br />
I'm probably going to end up with one of each core gang box at the least. I've always liked the setting and so why not? Also I've got Chaos and Genestealer cultists that are waiting to have something done with them so why not add some heretics and a xenos menace in my underhive?<br />
<br />
Cheers,<br />

It's assembly table Saturday this week. I took a trip over to the new Warhammer store in Layton to check it out and ended up leaving with Gang War II and the Orlock box set.<br />
