Paint Table Saturday

Working on lots of tanks this week as #ArmourinApril continues. And I managed to complete a character for Inquisitor Draco's retinue, so that's one down and three to go.

Finally, I got my 'The Guilder' mini from Mad Robot Miniatures. He came today and I'm gonna try and get him painted in the next 48 hours for that bingo stamp.

Cheers,

CJ

Paint Table Saturday

It's been a busy week for me and I haven't gotten a whole lot done, but a little at a time all adds up eventually.

Paint Table Saturday

Just a brief update this week, folks. I've been mostly working on my Knight for Monster March.

I'm closing in on the final bits of the Knight, I've got the just the gatling cannon arm to finish up.

I also started getting some paint down on Grimm, follower of Inquisitor Draco.

Cheers!

Paint Table Saturday

It's assembly table Saturday this week. I took a trip over to the new Warhammer store in Layton to check it out and ended up leaving with Gang War II and the Orlock box set.

First thing I decide to do was convert an Orlock leader with a meltagun and an eye patch.
Happy St. Patricks!

Cheers,

CJ

Paint Table Saturday

A quick update for this weekend. I'm working on my Monster March pledge.

It's just the shoulders but I feel like I know where I want the paintjob to go now.

Stay tuned for progress of this monster all month!

CJ

Paint Table Saturday

Another week with lots of progress!

This weekend finds me with lots of bases to finish up. Almost all the bases for my Primaris Ultramarines are done so far. I decided with a few days to spare I should get the bases for my Death Guard finished up as well.

Cheers!

Paint Table Saturday

Been a while since I had anything to show on my Paint Table Saturday update.

Here is the state of my Squaduary pledge. The Primaris Marines from Dark Imperium have been a lot of fun to work on so far. Hopefully today I'll get the rest of the base colours blocked in and these minis will be ready for detailing. I also plan to get some work done on some custom bases for the models.

Cheers!

Saturday Workbench Update

I've been working on the Castaferrum Dreadnought from Death Masque as well as getting my first Veteran assembled. I've also got my first Horus Heresy model ready to paint.

Once these two models are painted I'll put my brushes away until the holidays roll around and concentrate on my 'Build Phase'.

Cheers!

Saturday Workbench Update

It's been a slow week. I think all I really got done was to get sand on the bases of the new Platoon Command. Oh, and a base coat on the base for the Deathwatch Contemptor.

I need to knock out my dreadnought for the Hobby Challenge since next month I want to take part in...
I'll have some updates soon.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

Good week this week with getting the Deathwatch Contemptor ready for paint. I've got the base done now, too. I think the next one I might work on that static pose.

Looking forward to next week I'm going to be painting my Dreadnought and Drenn Redblade. Also I have the new Platoon Command I knocked up to base and paint still.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update (Sunday Edition)

It's been a long week While I did get some work done on my Contemptor conversion, I didn't get the update posted until yesterday, and since then I've got some more work done. This week I hope to get the rest of the sculpting done and move onto paint.

My cat has been helping me keep sane during this last week. This fuzzy little monster does wonders for me.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

With the first two Deathwatch Overkill marines completed, I set about assembling the next few that I want to paint. I have Brothers Redblade, Grytt, Sorrlock, and Branatar above, as well as the servo skull and teleport homer.

Then I decided to assemble this Platoon Command for my Steel Legion. These are Caipari Urban Shocktroops from Mad Robot Miniatures. There is a medic on the far edge, using a mix of MRM and GW parts, as well as a MRM Commissar on the beer cap. More on all of these to come, of course.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

Another week down.
Since my Leman Russ refurb project has stalled for want of silicone, I got the time to do some painting on my Deathwatch Overkill marines. Now this stuff is quite serviceable for what I need, as long as it hasn't sat for overly long. Mine has sat for quite some time and the rubber is gone over.
As stated in my first Deathwatch post I started with the Ultramarines seconded to Killteam Alpha. I've got a lot of base colour laid in, and hope to finish them this weekend.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

Late update, and brief tonight. I've been puttering along on the Leman Russ salvage. Not much more done really than what I've posted. I've got a small side project that will be... beneficial? to the project. I'll have a post about that when it works or fails.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

Man it's been hot out here in Utah. This week finally brought a change and the end of fifteen or sixteen days of triple digit temperatures. Combine that heat with working outside, well... it drains you. Consequently this week I didn't get too much done, besides moving things around the workbench.

The Leman Russ refurbishment is still underway. The kill team for the /r/warhammer40k hobby challenge is done. My Imperial Knight is still standing here staring at me with its shining eye lenses. I've got 32 days of continuous rewards in Freeblade, does that count for anything?

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Uodate

Another weekend comes and July is just about done. It's been a hot week in the sun for me so I won't lie, hobby time has been encroached upon by cool drink and [adult swim] watching time.

I did get some work done on the Leman Russ tanks I got from eBay last month. They came with spaced armour and it wasn't doing it for me. I'll have a post on that going up tomorrow.

Finally a conversion kit for the Imperial Knight I've been wanting went on sale on eBay so I grabbed one. It arrived and I'll be working on it shortly. The gent who is selling them has a blog, check it out.

Cheers!

Saturday Workbench Update

This past week I wrapped up paint on the Inquisitorial Kill Team for the /r/Warhammer40k Summer Challenge. Above are the bases I whipped up before paint. This coming week (and the weeks ahead) will see the construction of a new Salamander Scout using my 'Chimera Project' protocol, the completion of the Gideon MBT and Vanquisher tank, and the refurbishment of these two Leman Russ from the wilds of eBay.

Finally, speaking of eBay... I got a hold of the Knight Scion at a very low price from an overseas auction. He's gonna get painted sooner or later, too.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update

Nothing much happening besides these Inquisitorial Henchmen on my workbench today. I did try to get a hold of the Armoured Containers kit from my FLGS but they didn't have any come in. I guess it is a popular kit since it's temporarily out of stock on the GW site as well.

In other news I've been playing more board games lately. and most recently it's been Zombies!!! with my lady friend.

This is an excellent game. There are myriad expansions for it, although I've only ever played the first couple. I highly recommend adding this game to your collection.

Now I'm off to enjoy the nice weather.

Cheers,

CJ

Saturday Workbench Update (Sunday Edition)

Everything got migrated off my work table and onto my desk yesterday so we could get the main room cleaned up for Rockband last night.

Today I'm back to work. Up next on deck is the Mystery Character's retinue.

It's nice to have a nice clear area to make a fresh mess in sometimes.

Cheers,

CJ

Paint Table Saturday: Workbench Update

Greetings! It has been too long since I've had anything to share here.

As one might guess, I've been working steadily on my Gideon from Mad Robot. The turret has been modified to accept all the weapon options included in the kit. Before that excellent tank arrived I was working on my underhive terrain and the scrap pile.

The piece has been given a black basecoat and should be finished soon.

And that is all I've been doing this week. Next week I want to have the Gideon properly assembled, gaps filled, and details handled so that I can get on with painting it.

Cheers!
